Hypnotherapy, EFT and Mindfulness At Aspire Therapy
We offer Hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Life Coaching.
We also believe that Mindfulness techniques can help to overcome a range of problems and bring balance into people’s lives. Hypnotherapy can be used to develop a mindful attitude.
Programmes of treatment typically blend elements from each of these approaches, though you can choose to follow a particular approach if you prefer.
When used in combination these approaches complement each other effectively to maximise the opportunities for change.
- Hypnotherapy uses relaxation to enhance inner calm and to create the mental conditions which can help you to overcome problems and change your thinking. It can also be used to change your feelings about past experiences which may be adversely influencing your state of mind in the present.
- Mindfulness helps you to access an inner sense of calm which allows you to deal with stress and anxiety and to gain perspective on the problems of life. It has a very ancient heritage and is traditionally cultivated through the practice of meditation. Mindfulness is now being embraced by many modern therapies, partly due to the evidential support it has received from recent neuroscientific research. Brain scanning is providing visual evidence of its power to influence the way the brain works.
- EFT is a newer therapy which involves you tapping on acupuncture points on your upper body while verbalising a problem. It can be very helpful for releasing blocked emotions, controlling obsessive thinking and improving your mood. It is also an easy-to-use self-help tool. On our weight-loss programme we sometimes use it for dealing with cravings.
- NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is often referred to as ‘waking hypnosis’ and is a close relative of hypnotherapy. It is an interactive method particularly useful for increasing your confidence and overcoming negative thoughts and feelings. It uses light relaxation, visualisation and other simple exercises to improve your state of mind. It also provides you will the self-help techniques which can help you to take better control over your thoughts and feelings.
- Life Coaching approaches serve a very practical purpose and are useful for self-clarification, for setting achievable goals and for identitifying the steps you need to take to achieve those goals.
